Spreading Festive Joy
Connecting schoolchildren and care home residents to combat loneliness this Christmas.
Following the success of last year’s initiative, we are once again uniting schoolchildren and care home residents through our Cards of Kindness campaign.
The programme invites local primary schools to create handmade Christmas cards for care home residents, helping to brighten the festive season for older people who may find this time of year lonely.

We’ve made the Cards of Kindness process simple so schools and care homes can focus on spreading joy.

Connecting communities.
Blueleaf Care pairs each participating primary school with a local care home, helping to spark new friendships between generations.

Getting creative.
Blueleaf then provides the schools with fun card-making kits so children can design and decorate personalised Christmas cards filled with festive cheer.

Delivering kindness.
When the cards are ready, a Blueleaf representative collects them from the school and hand-delivers them to the care home—spreading joy, connection, and a little Christmas magic to every resident involved.
By sharing creativity, compassion, and conversation, Cards of Kindness bridges the generational gap - lifting spirits in care homes while nurturing empathy and community awareness among children.
This year, Blueleaf Care is inviting even more schools and care homes across the UK to join in spreading warmth, joy, and human connection throughout the festive season and beyond.
