Care Home Furniture Comes to Life at Blueleaf’s ‘The Craft of Comfort’ Insight Day

Bright, vibrant fabrics. Meticulously crafted furniture. Inclusive design principles that put residents at the heart of every decision. These were just some of the highlights that welcomed guests at Blueleaf’s recent Furniture Insight Day; The Craft of Comfort - a gathering designed to bring care home professionals closer to the future of care environments.
The day opened with a warm welcome from the Blueleaf team, setting the tone for an engaging, interactive experience. Attendees were invited to explore three hands-on workshops, each offering a unique window into the world of care home furniture.
In the first session, Panaz hosted a lively workshop on fabric trends, showcasing how their innovative textiles combine style, durability, and performance. Attendees watched as Panaz demonstrated water resistance and hydrostatic performance tests, seeing first hand how their fabrics withstand spills and everyday pressure. The team also shared best cleaning methods, equipping delegates with practical advice to maintain fabric longevity while keeping care environments safe and hygienic.

The second workshop, led by Renray Healthcare, showcased the craftsmanship behind care home furniture. Delegates were given a behind-the-scenes look at the precision, skill, and attention to detail that go into every product. From construction techniques to finishing touches, guests saw how Renray’s furniture is built to last, combining quality, functionality, and aesthetic appeal to meet the demands of daily care home life.

The third session, hosted by Blueleaf Care, focused on creating environments that truly support resident wellbeing. Delegates got involved with an empathy workshop – exploring how design of a room is crucial for residents with sensory loss and discovered practical ways to make spaces safer, more welcoming, and easier to navigate. The workshop emphasized how thoughtful design choices can enhance comfort, independence, and quality of life for residents.

Throughout the day, the atmosphere was buzzing with curiosity and collaboration. Guests asked questions, shared experiences, and explored solutions together, leaving inspired and armed with new ideas to take back to their care homes.
By the end of the event, it was clear: the day wasn’t just about furniture - it was about shaping better environments, enhancing resident comfort, and fostering innovation in care. Attendees left with not only a deeper understanding of the design of furniture & spaces but also a renewed enthusiasm for the role design plays in improving care experiences.
Blueleaf’s Insight Day is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting care homes with knowledge, inspiration, and products that make a real difference.
"The insight day was great opportunity to meet with the manufacturers of some key furniture ranges and understand in much greater detail how these are produced.
The set up of the day, with the presentations, interaction and levels of engagement was perfect and enabled me to fully understand how these companies could benefit our business.
Having a selection of the room set ups in place enabled me to feel the quality of the builds, and also allowed me to envisage how the furniture could look within our homes."
