Future of Care Conference – 19th March

During this one-day conference, leading experts will impart their knowledge and wisdom, discussing key trends for the future of care in focused speaker slots.

There will also be two dedicated panel sessions providing the chance for the audience to ask questions on the issues that most affect them to ensure a social care system fit for the future and a closing keynote from Frank van Dillen presenting a case study about Hogeweyk, the village located in Weesp, Netherlands where all the residents have an advanced form of dementia. Dementia, Care & Nursing Home Expo – 26th & 27th March

This dynamic social care event dedicated to inspiring business growth & a sustainable social care model will kick off on March 26th.

The number of people aged 85+ will double in the next 25 - 30 years. It is imperative to the sustainability of the social care sector that care providers can embrace the changes that will be demanded of them, whilst also remaining compliant and providing the highest level of care possible. The UK leaves the European Union – 29th March

At 11pm on Friday 29th March 2019, the UK is set to leave the EU. This, of course, will impact supply chains across the industry so make sure you are working closely with your suppliers to ensure that this will not significantly impact your care home.

Social Care Green Paper – April

The Social Care Green Paper, including options for future funding, was announced by chancellor Philip Hammond in the 2017 March Budget and planned for the following autumn.

The government has made a series of funding pledges since the announcement of the green paper, most recently an additional £240m announced in October for 2018-19.

It is unclear what exactly will be in the Green Paper but it is hoped that it will include proposals which will increase resources, improve communication between the social care sector and the NHS and improve quality and safety embedded in the service.

A spokesperson for Department of Health & Social Care has stated that proposals will be published at the first opportunity in 2019. We learned recently that it will most likely be released in April.

HealthInvestor Chicago Conference – 1st May

Held once again in Chicago, this full-day event will bring together leading experts, investors and major operators from the UK market to detail sector trends, developments and explain the deal-making environment for international investors.

Health Plus Care – 26th & 27th June

This is Europe's largest integrated health and social care event, building relationships between commissioners, providers and suppliers.

Health+Care provides a platform for more than 10,000 senior health and social care professionals to come together to forge new partnerships and productive ways of working in challenging times.

Care Show 2019 – 9th & 10th October

The Care Show provides expert-led CPD accredited conference sessions, hands-on training, latest solutions and networking opportunities to support those connected to and responsible for providing excellent care for others.

Care England Conference and Exhibition – 13th November

This year the conference is focused around the ‘workforce’. Whilst the organisers are still selecting high-level speakers who will be debating the issues the industry is currently facing, it promises to be a beneficial and insightful event.

The conference will be of interest to all residential and domiciliary care providers, especially owners, directors and senior managers who support older people and those with dementia, learning disabilities and long-term conditions.
